The Associate Marketing Director takes the lead in developing and managing marketing projects and campaigns for the Alumni Association and its individual business units. This person works closely with the Marketing Director, the position’s direct supervisor, and has an important role in strategic planning, brand management, and performance analysis.
The Associate Marketing Director works directly with client managers throughout the Alumni Association, identifying their marketing objectives and then translating those goals into action plans. That entails developing effective messaging; identifying target audiences and smart ways to segment them; determining the most effective formats, platforms, and delivery channels; identifying the appropriate measures of success; working within budget with a laser focus on ROI; tracking performance; and adjusting strategy and tactics as analytics and good judgment warrant.
In building campaigns, this person works closely with outside vendors and our in-house creative, digital, and editorial teams. In all undertakings, the Associate Marketing Director manages compliance with the Alumni Association’s brand, working with the Marketing Director and Creative Director to promote consistent messaging, a distinct voice, and a unified aesthetic.
This person will make creative contributions of his or her own, including, where appropriate: doing basic photography, videography and design layout work; creating social media and Web posts and producing and distributing broadcast e-mails; copywriting, including crafting campaign slogans and taglines; and more.

At least three years’ experience as a marketing and communications professional.
Meaningful experience working on marketing campaigns, maintaining brand standards, and project management
Project management or leadership skills
Analytical and strategic skills, particularly in translating analytics and other metrics into action plans.
Creative talents, particularly in copywriting and developing marketing messaging.
