Murray State University is currently accepting applications for two positions, Marketing Assistant (10 month internship or graduate assistantship) and Graphic Design Assistant (10 month internship or graduate assistantship). The appointments will be July 15, 2018 - May 15, 2019 (one academic year, with annual review and option to renew appointment for following academic year). Screening of application materials will begin immediately.
Primary marketing and promotions coordinator for Soccer, Women’s Basketball, Baseball and assist with Men’s Basketball and Football. This position will be in charge of developing/updating scripts, in-game promotions, Junior Racer kid's club, marketing plans, and serve as public address announcer for non-revenue sports. The assistant will serve as the athletic department liaison to other game management and university personnel.
Graphic Design Assistant:
The Grahpic Deisgn Assistant will support the marketing efforts of Murray State Athletics by thinking creatively and developing new design concepts, graphics and layouts for use in traditional (print) and digital advertising methods. Individual must plan, manage and coordinate concepts for all sports that best brand the Department and ensure brand consistency and uniformity in regards to logo and color usage for all programs.
The ideal candidate should possess strong Adobe Creative Suite design capabilities, communication, and organization. Knowledge and experience with social media trends is preferred. The ability to take initiative and work autonomously is key and to work in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree in related field.
The ability to work a non-standard work week including nights, weekends & holidays.
A highly motivated, goal & team oriented individual looking for career experience in college athletics; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; computer skills and knowledge.
Prior athletic marketing experience, Adobe Creative Suite skills, social media and public relations experience preferred.
