The American Board of Perianesthesia Nursing Certification, Inc. (ABPANC) seeks an innovative and dynamic Marketing & Communications Manager to join our team. This is a new position for our organization and provides an exciting opportunity for the right candidate.
ABPANC is a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization based in New York City, including both a local and remote workforce. The marketing and communications manager position is planned to work out of our NYC headquarters building. However, remote candidates are also encouraged to apply.
The Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a consistent and integrated marketing and communications strategy for ABPANC. This person will work collaboratively and on a wide array of ABPANC projects and programs including working with and communicating to ABPANC’s key stakeholder groups such as Board members, other volunteer leaders, vendors, and PSI staff.
Specific Job Duties:
Develop and maintain ABPANC website content for certification, recertification, board and volunteer resources, and other initiatives.
Develop an integrated social media strategy to build ABPANC audiences across social media platforms.
Develop and implement an annual email marketing and outreach communications effort targeted to: non-certified nurses to encourage certification; certified nurses to encourage recertification; and other stakeholders (CNO’s, etc.)
Manage and implement the ABPANC awards and scholarship program.
Prepare and run reports using the ABPANC Learning Builder Candidate Management System.
Prepare and distribute ABPANC press releases and other communications, as assigned.
Write and distribute ABPANC’s News to Share on a semi-annual basis.
Write and submit updates for ASPAN’s Breathline on a bi-monthly basis.
Plan and help facilitate annual focus groups during the annual ASPAN National Conference.
Serve as staff liaison for the marketing work team, awards committee, and other task forces and committees as assigned by CEO.
Prepare drafts of publications on a variety of subjects, including reports, as assigned by CEO.
Answer ABPANC phone calls and general email inquiries, as needed.
Assist in the development of reports, Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and proposals for board consideration, as required.
Other duties as assigned by the ABPANC CEO.
A bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or related field.
Previous non-profit association experience preferred. In lieu of experience, must have an interest in learning about association management, professional certification, and specialty nursing certification.
Healthcare background and knowledge about certification preferred.
Demonstrated creativity in the development of marketing, public relations, and educational program and communications materials.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Self-motivated and able to work successfully alone and as a member of a team.
Innovative, analytical and excellent problem solver.
Ability to manage multiple projects and/or priorities successfully.
Ability to communicate with others in a way that is supportive and caring, builds consensus, and resolves conflicts.
Highly proficient in use of MS Word, Excel, PPT, Survey Monkey, Microsoft Outlook and other technology platforms. Able to learn new software quickly.
Ability to travel occasionally.
Experience managing a budget preferred.
