ASAE seeks a marketing professional whose primary objective is to coordinate all aspects of external marketing email communications for the organization. A strong knowledge of digital marketing trends, marketing automation, and technical skills as detailed below are required. Strong interpersonal communications skills are needed since the position interfaces heavily with the marketing team, the broader communications team, internal clients, other support teams, and vendors. The ability to continually manage multiple projects and shifting priorities is a must. Attention to detail and a sense of ownership of the work are essential.
SUMMARY OF BASIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Hands-on position tasked with coordinating all outbound e-marketing communications for ASAE in support of its online communication strategy. Interfaces with all members of the marketing department and internal clients to coordinate the schedule, layout, deployment, tracking, and billing of all marketing emails sent to ASAE members and stakeholders. Works with the marketing managers to deploy effective emails for internal clients and continually seek and stay abreast of various e-marketing and marketing automation techniques. Manages promotions for smaller programs and assists with other marketing initiatives as needed. Handles other duties as assigned. Reports to Marketing VP. Works with staff to ensure that all electronic communications from ASAE reflect the organization’s brand standards and accurately represent sponsors.
Schedule, layout, deploy, track, and bill for all outbound e-marketing communications.
Coordinate email copy, art, list requirements, and a/b testing; manage system libraries & lists (invalids).
Conduct all email quality assurance checks to ensure all email meets organizational expectations.
Manage email prioritization and monitor list sizes as a result.
Aggregate content for InTouch articles, digests, and other enewsletters; set up and deployment.
Work with marketing managers in advance of deployment to obtain specific email images appropriately sized (banners, sponsorship logos, signatures).
Understand the email preference center for trouble shooting purposes.
Facilitate on hold messages for phone system.
Monitor and forward responses to any emails; manage response inbox.
Produce monthly email performance reports with commentary on stats and recommendations.
Verify that all emails being sent on behalf of ASAE adhere to branding guidelines and represent the organization appropriately.
Manage template/email design requests, create and implement procedures.
Educate marketing team on changes within the email marketing landscape and updated HRS capabilities.
Support other departments as needed in relation to their use of our email platform.
Supports marketing managers in managing GoogleAdwords and retargeting campaign as assigned.
Supports marketing managers in managing UTM code creation and deployment as needed.
Manages promotions for smaller programs as assigned.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION: Four-year college degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related area is required.
Knowledge and understanding of digital marketing trends is required.
Intermediate HTML knowledge required
Experience using an email platform (such as BlueHornet, Adestra, MailChimp) required
Experience using an AMS (such as Aptify) or CMS system to create views and pull lists required
Experience with Google AdWords/Retargeting and UTMs preferred
Experience using a marketing automation platform (such as Marketo or Hubspot) preferred
Proficiency in Excel required
Basic project management skills required. Experience with online project management tools such as liquidplanner preferred
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: This position requires excellent communication skills including interpersonal and listening skills, writing skills and a well-developed sense of customer/client service. Individual must be able to work independently and collaboratively within the marketing, branding and communications department and more broadly with the entire Communications Group, clients throughout the organization, and vendors.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCES: One to three years of experience in a marketing setting with emphasis in electronic marketing communications development in a fast-paced, high-volume environment is required.
