The digital marketing communications assistant reports to the Assistant Director for Regional Communications and works with all staff in Regional Advancement to develop engaging digital communications.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDIGITAL AND EMAIL MARKETING PRODUCTIONBuild emails using visual editors, HTML, and CSS.Create content for emails by gathering information, collecting assets, and writing copy.Manage email editing and approval process.Manage email audiences and delivery by requesting lists from the alumni/donor database, loading lists into an email client, and modifying lists based on actions (e.g. registrations).Work closely with the Assistant Director for Regional Communications on email strategy, project management, experimentation, and optimization.Create and manage online marketing and registration for events.Create online and print graphics, templates, and/or collateral, as needed.Develop and build surveys.Track and report on metrics.SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATIONResearch, curate, schedule, and post content on social media.Assist with Regional UWAA social media account management and moderation, including both domestic and international channels (Facebook, WeChat, Weibo, Line, WhatsApp, KaKao).CONTENT CURATION AND SHARINGGather and track content for internal and external newsletters.Gather, write, build, and maintain story posts to UWAA WordPress.Maintain chapter and region pages on UWAA WordPress.Gather insights into what types of content resonate with our diverse audience, paying special attention to geographic, cultural, and demographic nuances.TRAFFIC COORDINATIONWork with alumni relations staff to plan for and schedule marketing related to alumni engagement activities.Maintain content calendars.Maintain e-marketing traffic schedule.Ensure all deliverables are distributed in a timely manner.Maintain schedule and communicate assignments and deadlines using task management tools.Maintain and improve kickoff documents.OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.Key CompetenciesCoreEffective communications: Expresses oneself clearly and empathetically in interactions with others in all forms of communication, i.e., verbal and written, one-on-one and group, etc.Interpersonal Awareness: Builds and maintains positive relationships and actively contributes as a member of working teams to achieve results.Professional Credibility: Takes responsibility for meeting goals, objectives, obligations, and solving problems while representing the mission, vision and values of the organization.Critical Thinking: Obtains, analyzes and evaluates information effectively in the face of ambiguity.
