JOB SUMMARY: Plan, develop and manage outreach and promotional activities for programs as defined by institutional goals. Evaluate and determine effectiveness of projects and monitors budget for programs. May supervise staff.
Works with Community Outreach Manager to develop, implement and measure community engagement strategies for Vanderbilt Health and Monroe Carell Jr. Childrenâs Hospital at Vanderbilt.
Develops and maintains relationships with community and business organizations across Middle Tennessee, including Chambers of Commerce, civic organizations, etc.
Works with Medical Center leadership and Development colleagues to implement special events, including walks for various organizations and events benefitting the medical center.
Creates and maintains database of all community engagement activities, prepares agendas for and runs sponsorship board meetings, point of contact for community organizations.
Tracks all community engagement and event related assets; manages inventory for specialty items, adheres to guidelines for usage, etc.
Responsible for event implementation, including recruiting volunteers, planning event activities and logistics, manning events, setup and tear-down
Oversees collateral development, signage, exhibit space for community engagement and event use.
Manages all aspects of the mascot for Childrenâs Hospital, including scheduling appearances, costume maintenance, arranging handler, etc.
Tracks event ROI and manages budget.
Plan, develop and manage outreach and promotional activities for high profile programs as defined by institutional goals.
Daily interaction with department leadership. Individual will work with Medical Director, CEO and/or other leadership of program
Research and create projects to reach target audiences as defined by the program's strategic marketing goals.
Represent VUMC in the community and with non-profit organizations.
Coordinate the development of informative displays, materials and promotional items in collaboration with strategic marketing.
Coordinate activities for community events associated with program.
Evaluate and determine effectiveness of projects.
Maintain statistics on outreach programs, measure return on investment.
Prepare report for leadership.
Conduct post-event meeting with all involved parties. Evaluate effectiveness of event.
May supervise support staff including students, temporary employees, and community volunteers.
Determine staffing needs and make personnel recommendations.
Ensure staffing needs are met.
Allocate and monitor budget expenses related to program.
Track expenditures against program budget.
Prepare financial reports for stakeholders
Assist as needed with other department activities.
Offer assistance to other staff (if needed) on event planning.
