The Marketing Coordinator will develop, implementand execute strategic marketing, digital, branding and promotional plans for VanderbiltAthletics and the Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center. The idealcandidate will identify and execute innovative elements to engage with studentsand community members at the rec center to maintain and improve theirprogramming as well as specific projects within athletics that may include assignedsports.
This position will be housed in athleticsand will spend approximately 50% of their time working on athletics initiativesand 50% of their working on rec center marketing. Subject to change.
Actively participates in planning,development and implementation of short and long-range marketing strategies.Works closely and collaboratively with Communications, Operations and TicketSales teams to develop and implement marketing, promotional, social media anddigital advertising plans and campaigns.
Assume responsibility for planning andexecuting efforts to develop and enhance programs at the Recreation andWellness Center including overseeing social media and website content andcoordinate all marketing plans for eight programs (Intramural Sports, ClubSports, Wellness & Fitness, Massage Therapy, Outdoor Recreation, CampVandyand Aquatics)
Assume responsibility for planning andimplementation of efforts to drive ticket revenue, game day attendance andoverall brand awareness. Generates revenue through season ticket sales, singlegame and group ticket sales.
Responsible for campus marketing, communications,partnerships, sponsorship and alumni relations; provides strategic directionand executes marketing and communications plans that promote and inspire campusparticipation.
Conceptualizes, executes and oversees the creationof marketing collateral (i.e. print, digital).
Develops new and expands on existing marketingstrategies to drive traffic, revenue in an efficient way.
Establish program objectives, develop integratedstrategies, and provide seamless execution of campaigns and projects to achieverevenue objectives, brand goals, awareness, database growth and engagement.
Profile of an Ideal Candidate
Bachelor's degree required (ideally inMarketing, Business or a related field), minimum of one to threeyears of experience required.
Must have experience with AdobePhotoshop and InDesign. Must provide five (5) samples of work
Ideal candidate will have experiencewith digital marketing and google analytics
Must be a proactive thinker who is interested indeveloping and executing new ideas to better improve the efficiency of theoverall brand.
Organized and detail oriented person who can workin a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Be a thought leader and early adopter of new andeffective marketing strategies, with a constant goal of enhancing the guestexperience and supporting business initiatives.
Candidates must be able to work a non-standardwork week including nights, weekends & holidays.
Must be able to communicate effectively and relateto youth, parents, program staff, and patrons
Certifications: CPR/AED and auto-injector modulefor the Professional Rescuer. Ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
