Job Summary/Basic Function: Job Summary: Lead marketing efforts for undergraduate and graduate programs within the College of Engineering (COE) as well as coordinate events and recruitment initiatives. The Coordinator of Marketing will report directly to both the director of outreach and student services in the College of Engineering and the director of marketing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Create COE branding and messaging position statement through targeted research while in compliance with university overarching strategies.
Brand programs according to university policy throughout the COB.
Coordinate and carry out student and parent visits and various recruiting events throughout the year.
Work closely with the Office of Recruitment and Admissions in recruiting prospective engineering students.
Collaborate with the directors and chairs of COE departments to create recruitment opportunities.
Play an active role on the COE scholarship committee.
Responsible for updating resources, manage news stories and creating newsletters.
Oversee and organize all activities for student orientations within the COE during the college sessions.
Coordinate social media platforms presenting a cohesive presence for the university and COE.
Perform the role of college web liaison by updating and maintaining COE web site, providing training and support in the content management system for other users in the college.
Write and distribute news releases as necessary for events held by departments and programs within the college.
Communicate effectively with the college's subject matter experts to develop content that speaks to appropriate audiences.
Together with the university's marketing division, develop templates and procedures to promote COE programs and departments.
Work with other entities around campus, including marketing communications, recruitment, development, alumni affairs and other college marketing coordinators to coordinate joint activities.
Manage all aspects of the COE summer camps.
Responsible for managing all communication to internal and external constituents as it pertains to the College of Engineering.
Coordinate COE commencement activities.
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Must be able to communicate well with students, parents, faculty members and many different types of community groups. Must have proven experience in coordinating and planning various types of events. Must have experience working with Microsoft Office with database management. All work will be performed in accordance with Lamar University Policy. Ability to multitask and prioritize. Be a proven self-starter with capacity to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-talented team of designers, developers, content producers and strategists. Ability to think creatively and outside of the box. Be a team player by providing quality service to all levels of personnel through a collaborative approach to work with a positive attitude. Excellent Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite skills.
Education: Bachelors degree; preferably in business, science, public relations or communication.
Required Experience: 3-5 years of related job experience.
