Witt/Kieffer has been retained by El Camino Hospital to conduct the inaugural search for the Vice President, Marketing and Communications. Known as the Hospital of the Silicon Valley, El Camino Hospital is consistently ranked as one of the leading hospitals in the San Francisco Bay area. With innovation and technology, as well as compassion, central to their approach in improving patient care, the organization seeks a dynamic, bold and strategic executive who possesses the passion and experience to move the organization forward.
El Camino Hospital is an independent, locally governed, not-for-profit hospital with two campuses – Mountain View, a 300-bed facility, and Los Gatos, a 143-bed facility. Key medical specialties include cancer, heart and vascular, men's health, mental health, neuroscience, orthopedic and spine care, senior health, urology and the first Women's Hospital in Northern California. The hospital is also Magnet certified and has enjoyed tremendous financial success, with revenues close to $1B.
Reporting to the hospital CEO, the Vice President will be a critical member of the senior leadership team, and will be responsible for defining and implementing the enterprise-wide marketing and communications plan including internal and external communications, media relations and digital strategy. The organization is in the process of rolling out a new brand – El Camino Health, and the chief marketing executive will have a pivotal role in further advancing a more consumer-driven, whole person approach to health. Given that the VP, Marketing and Communications is a new role within the executive leadership team, it is understood that this individual will need to assess current levels and structure of staff, financial support and technology to support the endeavor.
This is a compelling opportunity for an experienced marketing and communications leader who is adept at building partnerships to serve as a strategic thought partner to other leaders. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a strong, creative instinct and an entrepreneurial spirit that will help create a bolder future for El Camino. Superior judgment, strong values, and a passion for the mission of healthcare will also be central to this position’s success.
