The LRCVB is seeking a Sales Director to promote and sell the City of Little Rock as a destination for conventions, meetings and events. The Sales Director position is under the direction of the Vice President of Sales and Service.
Essential Job Functions:
Manage and direct an assigned sales territory and/or market segment(s) including research, strategy, and direct client contact to generate new convention, meeting and event business to the City of Little Rock.
Works with the Vice President of Sales and Service to develop effective sales approach to sales territory and/or market segment(s) for the development and implementation of an effective prospecting process to qualify existing and identify new accounts.
Responsible for identifying potential business within individual sales territory and/or market segment(s) to generate qualified, detailed, and accurate sales leads to Little Rock hotels and facilities. Acts as a liaison between the organization and hotels and/or facilities to produce a proposal to secure the business. Inquires to identify alternative opportunities and offers acceptable alternatives.
Prepares customized bid proposals, conducts bid presentations and hosts site visits presenting accurate information to potential customers including booking policies, meeting facilities rental, capacities and features of LRCVB managed facilities. Maintains consistent and timely response to clients and partners.
Participates in and serves as an LRCVB representative at industry conferences and events, and trade shows and sales missions to promote the destination and generates leads and secure definite business.
The LRCVB offers a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. The Sales Director position is bonus eligible. Additional benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, plus a full retirement package.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is required.
Minimum of four years of demonstrated sales experience in the tourism industry (hotel, convention center, and/or DMO/CVB).

The Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau (LRCVB) is the official destination marketing organization for the City of Little Rock, charged with promoting the city for convention and leisure travel. LRCVB also manages and operates the Statehouse Convention Center, Robinson Center, River Market (Ottenheimer Hall, First Security Amphitheater, and two outdoor pavilions) and multiple parking facilities. LRCVB is an independent governmental agency, governed by a seven-member commission. LRCVB is primarily funded by a dedicated lodging and prepared food tax. The organization is divided into four primary divisions – Finance & Administration, Sales & Services, Marketing & Communications, and Facility Operations. LRCVB employs 125 full-time and 65 part-time staff. The Sales and Service division is a team of 15.
