The Wellesley College Office of Admission is seeking an Assistant Director of Admission Marketing and Communications to join a dynamic marketing and communications team. This role will support all marketing and communications strategy across digital and print including website, email marketing, video, social media, and print communications. The Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications serves as the point-person for all student recruitment communication supporting the development of a diverse applicant pool through College Board Search, recruitment travel, on- and off-campus events, social media, and yield activities. Specific responsibilities include: coordinating, disseminating, and tracking all digital, video, and print communications; tracking and analyzing campaign efficacy through analytics; managing a multi-channel communication calendar; developing and implementing layered drip campaigns for search and yield efforts; communicating with vendors, creating unique digital content copy and layout; maintaining and growing social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, WeChat); and monitoring of lead generation volume given recruiting and yield goals for the department. The Assistant Director will assist other admission counselors to market and coordinate on-campus recruitment and yield programs, liaise with other offices and departments on campus, manage external vendors, and work collaboratively with student workers. The role oversees the management of two marketing and communications interns and a team of remote student bloggers. The Assistant Director may also support general recruitment efforts through the review of applications or recruitment travel.
Bachelor’s degree required. 3 -5 years of previous marketing, communication, admission, higher education, secondary school, non-profit organization or related experience, including student work study, is preferred. Familiarity with and support of the mission of a selective, liberal arts college is essential and the ability to communicate that mission through marketing and communication efforts. Experience working within a CRM required. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Drupal, Hootsuite, Canva and cloud-based project management tools preferred. Candidates should demonstrate organizational skills, superior interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to exercise independent judgement in project planning and execution. Some evening and weekend work will be required. Must be available to travel to represent the college, if needed. August start date desirable.
