Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to: • Influence stakeholders to shape the market with regards to new mechanism of action and regulatory endpoint • Lead insights with key scientific thought leaders in collaboration with marketing colleagues and other internal partners (i.e., Medical) based on brand needs for customer input • Develop and execute scientific expert engagement strategy and plan across stakeholders • Develop and execute upon unbranded commercial strategy • Lead development, alignment, and implementation of Congresses & Meetings, as well as annual ad-board plan, which support brand and franchise objectives • Own the one Novartis approach to how the franchise engages at congresses • Lead interactions with extended brand team members (Sales, Market Access, Medical, Clinical, Regulatory, Training, Finance, etc.) building consensus/buy-in amongst the team
General responsibilities will include but are not limited to: • Shape brand strategy, priorities, and activities for one or more segments or channels; drive and measure brand performance; and effectively drive customer engagement across multiple stakeholders that are core to brand success • Execute or advise on execution of marketing strategies and tactics by channel / stakeholder aligned with the brand strategic imperatives and grounded in insights • Track budget across all marketing spend for specified segment or channel, and provide guidance around how to optimize budget • Effectively interact with internal customer groups (e.g. Sales force, TLLs) to understand needs and handle
What you’ll bring to the role:
• 5-8 years of experience that translate to breadth and depth of marketing-relevant competencies (e.g., marketing, market access, sales leadership, etc.) with fluency across pharma marketing domains • Experience across different US healthcare marketing channels/responsibilities, therapeutic areas, and/or lifecycle stages • Education: Advanced degree in science with preferred MBA • Experience working in medical function, with a balance of clinical vs. operational experience preferred • Commercial and customer-driven mindset • Experience in pharmaceuticals, biotech and/or healthcare required • Diverse experience outside of marketing (e.g. Customer-facing/sales experience, managed markets, operations, medical, etc.) • Demonstrated experience establishing and engaging key customer groups and other important stakeholders internally and externally to gain deep insights to evolve brand strategy and communication • Proven track record of success showing strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities • Strong learning agility / growth mindset • Travel is important and an estimate is approx. 35 - 40%
