The Marketing and Communications Director is a key position in the Development & Marketing Department and building and executing the marketing strategy for the Agency. This includes building awareness in the community to ensure JFS is raising the funds required to meet the needs of our clients. This role requires a strong storytelling ability – someone who can connect dots and ideas to tell a powerful and compelling narrative in a range of mediums including events (whether online or in-person), editorial, and social media. Executive and internal communications are also a core component of this job. As Director of Communications and Marketing, you must be a thought partner to our CEO and find creative and impactful ways to amplify the CEOs voice.
In this role, you will be working with an extremely passionate and motivated team. You will also be a member of the Agency’s Executive team.
Creates and executes the Agency’s marketing and communications strategy to achieve its mission and goals, and then partners with key stakeholders to execute the plans.
Works within the Development & Marketing team to meet donor stewardship and revenue goals.
Supports and partners with the CEO on executive communications.
Collaborates with Executive team on internal communications.
Supports special events and external audience engagement for the Development staff, the Outreach & Education team, and sometimes program staff.
Plan and produces marketing and communications materials, including advertising, print and electronic newsletters, and program collateral.
Ensures that the brand identity of the Agency is cohesive across departments and events.
Develops and executes the public relations plan.
Oversees design and creation of the website and all digital communication across channels.
Has final approval on vendor and advertising contracts.
Manages the marketing and communications budget.
Manages the Marketing Manager and the Web Developer and truly engages them in the work.

Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum ten years of experience in related field.
Leadership experience with a proven ability to lead and mentor staff.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Strong planning and organizational skills.
Experience managing a departmental budget.
Must be a strong team player with the ability to inspire collaboration to achieve goals.
Ability to lead and take direction, be flexible, work independently, think creatively, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure.
Knowledge of Jewish community and culture strongly preferred.
Experience with Asana or other project management software a plus.
