Marketing Strategist The Sustainability Institute at the Pennsylvania State University is seeking a Marketing Strategist to design and implement marketing strategy, tactics and provide consultative services.
This position will be filled at a Level 3, which typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience pitching stories to or working with news organizations is preferred. Applicants should be prepared to demonstrate expertise in writing, with special consideration given to experience in journalism, marketing, editing, and related fields. Familiarity with AP style, social media platforms, Drupal, WordPress, Microsoft Office, email marketing platforms (e.g., MailChimp, iContact, Constant Contact) and Adobe Creative Suite preferred. Experience working with graphic designers is preferred. Experience working with students and mentoring interns a plus. The successful candidate for this position will have a demonstrated commitment to sustainability and to diversity and inclusion. The successful candidate will also possess excellent project management skills to oversee significant projects for the Sustainability Institute such as production of an annual report, graphic asset management, and developing a brand identity and branding guidelines. Capacity to think strategically with regard to sustainability communication is essential. Experience with development of communication strategy, knowledge of sustainability concepts, and the ability to work collaboratively will be valuable. We are seeking a communicator with a demonstrated ability to understand and work with a diversity of communities.
