We are seeking a passionate, creative and strategic marketing professional to join our firm as the Chief Marketing Officer. This highly accomplished individual will elevate Little’s success by developing and leading a comprehensive, client-centered marketing and business development strategy. By creating innovative approaches that advance the Little brand, the CMO influences the measurable delivery of the firm’s brand promise, leading to remarkable client success stories, increased revenue, greater visibility and deeper relevance in our markets and across our industry. The CMO may be located in any of our offices Arlington, VA; Charlotte, NC; Durham, NC, Newport Beach, CA; or Orlando, FL.
In this role, the Chief Marketing Officer will:
Set the Strategy
Partner with President and CEO to set the strategic positioning and tone of corporate messaging.
Lead with a progressive, strategic point of view by maintaining an understanding of best practices, both inside and outside of the A/E industry and staying abreast of external intelligence.
Partner with Practice Leaders and Office Presidents on the development of their strategic plans and develop and manage Marketing and Business Development plans that align with those business goals.
Partner with the Chief Innovation Officer to conceive and implement ideas that differentiate the firm.
Serve as an integral member of the Executive Team to influence Little’s strategic direction, goals and growth initiatives. This position reports to the Corporate President.
Integrate the Brand
Lead the integration of the Little brand throughout all aspects of the marketing / BD function, including brand positioning, external messaging, internal brand education and communications, graphic tone, brand guidelines management, and competitive positioning for project pursuits.
Elevate awareness of Little’s brand promise through the capture, development and promotion of stories that illustrate its impact for clients.
Partner with the Chief Human Resources Officer to ensure brand integration within the employee experience, including recruiting, new employee orientation, new leader immersion, and positioning of reward and recognition programs.
Champion the Client Experience
Develop and manage ongoing strategies to deepen client loyalty, ensure ideal client retention and influence measurable business results.
Monitor the perception of Little through client and market research, then develop and activate associated plans in response to findings or as an anticipatory measure.
Shape a consistent, holistic experience with Little throughout the lifecycle of a decision process, from initial awareness of the firm through client selection and post project relationship.
Define the strategic vision and establish measurable goals for the Marketing team.
Guide and support two direct reports (Director of Engagement & Communications and Director of Business Development Strategy & Support) and their respective teams.
Evolve marketing practices and strategies to continually drive Little’s marketing effectiveness, and explore new technologies, alternative media, tools and processes to continually refine marketing efficiency.
Coach firm leaders and share best practices and lessons learned to impact individual and collective success.

Background and Experience
15+ years of well-rounded marketing experience, as well as 5+ years in a direct leadership role
Bachelor's degree is required; advanced degree in marketing or business is a plus
Experience in the A/E industry is not required
