The National Association for Proton Therapy is looking for a creative, independent, and confident professional to actively manage communications that promote our members and the clinical benefits of Proton Beam Therapy. This individual will lead and manage our marketing and communications plan, public relations, social media, and educational events.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing content through various platforms, including but not limited to our website, social media, emails, educational events, and newsletters. The ability to juggle multiple assignments with excellent attention to detail is essential, as is the ability to stay current on emerging trends and recommend strategic communication efforts.
This position offers a flexible remote working environment with an allowance for health care benefits and retirement plan. Some travel may be required when safety protocols allow. Applicants should have a home office or adequate space that accommodates a professional atmosphere for virtual meetings. This position may require frequent meetings with Organization leadership in Jacksonville, Florida. Accordingly, it is preferred that the successful candidate work in the North Florida region.

Job duties will include:
Write content such as email campaigns, e-newsletters, social media, web copy, press releases, and event promotions
Develop effective relationships with cancer stakeholders and patient advocacy groups to promote the elements of the company
Develop effective external and internal media presence through strategic growth of website, social media channels and promotion of educational events.
Assist with development, planning and execution of the annual conference
Manage virtual webinars for members
Maintain familiarity with emerging communication methods, and provide timely recommendations to implement effective communication strategies and practices
Plan, implement and measure the success of the communications programs designed to support the objectives of the association's organizational goals and objectives
Creates branding management guidelines for written communications to ensure consistent messaging
To be successful in this position, a candidate should:
Have a bachelor's degree and experience or demonstrated equivalency in marketing, communications or a similar degree and preferred to have at least three years of marketing experience, preferably for a nonprofit organization
Must be able to work independently and creatively
Flexibility, high work ethic and ability to engage and motivate others as part of dynamic team
Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to plan, create and apply high-value content to create awareness, understanding and engagement for the proton therapy community
Excellent editing and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
Demonstrated ability to effectively use media monitoring, media database, and newswire distribution tools
Effective organizational and time management skills
Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional relationships and interact effectively with diverse individuals to build successful working relationships
Have a thorough understanding of digital marketing and communication principles and techniques, including advertising, SEO, and google analytics
Proficient in Microsoft Office, strong knowledge and demonstrated use of web-based technology and social media networks including tools for research, analysis, and targeted communications.
Telecommuting is allowed.
