The National Business Officers Association (NBOA), the only national association focused exclusively on supporting independent school business officers and business operations staff and fostering financial and operational excellence among independent PK-12 schools, is seeking a proactive and collaborative professional to serve as Manager, Marketing and Member Engagement (new position).
The Manager, Marketing and Member Engagement, plays a key role on the marketing and communications team to help communicate NBOA member value, manage member retention strategies and increase member involvement with the association. The incumbent develops, writes, and produces, primarily digital marketing related content, for social media, and email communications to support the association’s membership renewal and retention activities, member benefits, and other programs included in NBOA member dues. The manager also supports social media and email marketing efforts in coordination with other team members and in alignment with the association’s strategic plan. Additional responsibilities include the management of new member onboarding, NBOAConnect (online member community) management, purchasing programs, volunteer management, among other NBOA member school benefits
Implement digital engagement strategies through NBOA social media platforms, in conjunction with Director, Marketing, and assist in overall management of NBOA social media platforms, including assisting with graphic design for social media promotions ensuring design concept and message is consistent throughout all communications
Create and execute digital messaging and online delivery for new member onboarding processes including welcome emails, onboarding website, and overall onboarding strategies for new NBOA member schools.
Execute member engagement email program, including Member Monthly periodic resource emails, and other communications to engage members in the full spectrum of NBOA member benefits, including Net Assets portfolio of member publications.
Serve as primary marketer for the association's member discount programs.
Develop marketing and engagement promotions to increase member usage of BIIS (Business Intelligence for Independent Schools) data platform.
Manage all aspects of the NBOA CareerHQ including marketing to both member and nonmember schools and potential job candidates.
Support NBOA’s online community, NBOA Connect, by recommending new engagement strategies, monitoring discussions, identifying trends, and working with a volunteer group of member ambassadors.
Collaborate with other staff to manage/administer the volunteer management process including volunteer appointment, renewal, and recognition communications for NBOA constituent and program advisory councils.
Work with the Learning Team to develop new member engagement opportunities at NBOA events.
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
At least three years experience with a membership organization or program with a track record of member/customer engagement.
Proven experience in marketing programs and products including writing and scheduling compelling email and social media content.
Experience with NetForum preferred or similar association management systems.
Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
Familiarity with marketing tools and platforms such as Real Magnet, SproutSocial, Buffer and Canva.

Ability to travel as required, at minimum, approximately one week in either February or March, and for short-term meeting travel.

Remote applicants are considered for this position. If applicants reside within 50 miles or less from Washington, DC, applicants will be part of the DC HQ team and the telework policy will apply. The current telework policy requires three (3) days in-office work and two (2) days telework.
