Marketing/Social Media Coordinator - Anesthesiology

Position reports to and works closely with the Communications and Marketing Manager in planning and executing departmentâ™s communications and marketing efforts.
The Communications Specialist will work to enhance the visibility and reputation of the Department of Anesthesiology (WUDA) through relevant and engaging print and digital communication mediums. Reporting to the Communications and Marketing Manager and working closely with departmental faculty, staff, and the School of Medicineâ™s Public Affairs office, this position will help develop new and enhance existing integrated communication initiatives in support of the department's educational, research, and clinical missions.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinates the departmentâ™s digital marketing initiatives, including Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, and department-related website updates: writes, edits, and maintains content for social media outlets for the department, including website news articles and corresponding Facebook/Twitter updates; maintains a log of all social media initiatives and content managers related to the department; monitors conversations about the department on social media outlets/channels. Administers social/web analytics platforms to help identify trends, KPIs, and goals.
Designs new marketing materials and updates outdated marketing materials such as social media graphics, brochures, handouts, newsletters, and flyers; works with vendors to get price quotes for marketing projects; works with key departmental personnel to ensure accuracy.
Provides coordination and marketing support for department events; available to work events as needed outside of normal business hours.
Attends and coordinates photo shoots as necessary to support the Communication and Marketing Manager.
Collaborate with marketing partners to ensure brand and message alignment.
Extensive familiarity with social networks (Facebook, Twitter, blogs, YouTube) and emerging technologies (including mobile), Internet culture and etiquette.
Excellent writing and editing skills, including strong attention to detail and proofreading skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks of varying degrees of complexity and to work well as part of a team.
Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills; has the ability to work collaboratively with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team.
At least two years of experience in a health care setting.
Basic Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and WordPress skills.
Bachelorâ™s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, or related field and a minimum of two years of experience.
$45,800.00 - $75,900.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
