We Are Looking For:
A Director of Marketing in Athletics to serve as the lead for daily marketing and promotional activities under the direction of the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing & Community Engagement. The incumbent will be involved in all aspects of marketing to include planning, advertising, promotion, public relations, program and product development, distribution, and research to meet the department’s goals and objectives. Will serve as the lead for assigned ticketed sports, developing sport specific ticketing, marketing, and sales plans. Assists in building fan game day experience in coordination with fan experience and tickets sales & service staff. For non-ticketed sports, develops sport specific marketing and communication plans to engage the fan base. Leads cross-sport promotional programs and marketing communication timelines. Builds and executes sport specific email marketing campaigns and deliveries to drive fan attendance, ticket sales, and fan affinity. Develops and grows campus partnerships with an emphasis on reaching the student population and oversees the UC Irvine Athletics student spirit group. Develops a comprehensive student plan to onboard new students and drive attendance to our sporting events. Oversees all aspects of the Junior Anteater Kids Club. Serves as the marketing internship coordinator overseeing recruitment, onboarding, training, and scheduling of our student intern staff.
What You Will Bring to This Position:
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
Solid knowledge of marketing principles, concepts, strategies, and best practices
Knowledge of customer service standards/procedures
Effective organizational skills and file creation, maintenance, and management skills
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
Minimum 2 years’ experience at a University or Athletic environment preferred
Solid knowledge of institutional products and services preferred
Knowledge of the campus and/or medical center including its achievements, mission, vision, goals, objectives, and infrastructure preferred
