Our location in Austin TX currently has an opportunity for a Product Marketing Manager for Abbott Brain Therapies. You will drive Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) Americas strategy and programs to achieve therapy adoption, market penetration, and sales goals for Abbott's movement disorders therapies portfolio.
As a member of the Americas downstream marketing team, this position will work closely with cross-functional partners and sales teams to support the commercialization of the go-to-market and continuation marketing strategies.
In this position you will be regarded as a technical, market expert related to neuromodulation therapies with broad knowledge of related fields. The successful candidate will exhibit: Positive attitude, leadership, desire and ability to lead the organization to ensure goals achievement, deep understanding of the complexities of market and customer needs, ability to develop, rationalize, and present strategy, strong analytical and computer skills, with working knowledge of financial models, strong work ethic, self-motivation, and resourcefulness.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Develops strategic marketing plans to meet Americas Abbott Brain Therapies revenue, profitability, and market penetration goals, ensuring collaboration and alignment with cross-functional partners.
- Work with the Americas Marketing team, assist in achieving product line sales and margin by helping drive execution of said marketing plan, tracking actuals vs. target and other key metrics such as closes, losses, and growth within accounts, and adjusting tactics as needed to achieve targets.
- Lead and assist in the development of tools (literature, brochures, website, and all media), training materials, campaigns, and field sales and customer communications to support sales and the customer and address any product line issues.
- Closely track and take responsibility for the impact of launches and adapt where required - identifying risks and development of mitigation plans.
- Assist in assessing value, plan, and coordinate presence at key industry meetings. Support Field Marketing efforts to participate in and conduct local channel meetings that drive customer adoption.
- Help develop sales educational/promotional pieces as appropriate: Initiate/manage/ implement publications/ competitive comparisons to support business strategy as appropriate.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with new and existing customers, KOLs, Patient Advocacy Groups and industry leaders.
- Work closely with Sales and Field management to develop and execute product marketing programs/tactics to respond to Customer and marketplace needs.
- Continuously monitors market needs and customer acceptance through field marketing, sales force contact, customer visits, attending key congresses and meetings, and conducting primary and secondary market research.
- Uses sales and market research data to diagnose state of the business, lead the creation of cross-functional marketing strategies, drive execution and sales force activation.
- Maintains understanding of neuromodulation technology in a competitive environment.
- Manages to a quarterly and annual budget.
- Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
- Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing
- 5+ years progressively responsible marketing or sales experience.
- Experience working with complex product portfolios in the medical device industry.
- Experience with strategic product planning and commercial execution.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
- Experienced agility to think across product, programs and customer segments to design and develop great and scalable marketing programs.
- Critical thinking and analysis of market conditions and opportunities.
- Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
- Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Analytical fluency with Salesforce, Microsoft Excel, and PowerBI platforms.
- Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Multitasks, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in timely manner.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
