As the Membership Development Manager, you will provide support to the Central Office of the Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (HERC) by recruiting new institutional members for various regions, supporting current and new members with onboarding and engagement, and supporting the development of a sales and member retention program.
Every day you will use your excellent prospecting, sales, and communication skills to recruit and maximize value to HERC members.
Manage member recruitment process, including assessing eligibility of prospective members, implementing messaging campaigns, and coordinating recruitment contacts
Manage member application and renewal
Develop member retention communications and tactics, including efforts to engage newly appointed campus contacts
Maintaining up to date and accurate membership records
Produce reports and analyses of member and participation information, in collaboration with Director of Operations
Collaborate with partners and networks to identify new prospective members and increase member engagement
Serve as a representative for HERC at conferences and other events targeting prospective members
Respond to regional member service inquiries from member campuses
Develop membership collateral, in collaboration with Director of Marketing and Communication
Leverage HERC technologies to support member engagement and recruitment

Position is fully remote. Some degree of trave (1-5 times per year) may be required.
Reports to the Co-Executive Director and Director of Operations at Central HERC.
Associate Art’s degree in a relevant field OR equivalent combination of education and 3-4 years of relevant experience. Experience in business development, member/customer relationship management . Demonstrated strength in managing large amounts of detailed information and implementing complex processes. Excellence in database administration is essential, as is experience with member service and sales.
To thrive in this role, you will have managed business development, sales campaigns, engaged with new and current members/customers, facilitated prospective member outreach efforts and grown revenue streams, marketed resources. Your ability to work collaboratively is a must.
Bachelor’s degree. Experience working in an association, nonprofit, higher education, or human resources, talent acquisition or faculty affairs setting. Ability to build coalitions and influence others in ways that build long-term collaborative relationships.
