Job Description: The Coordinator for Marketing and Outreach is intricately involved in the development and implementation of various engagement and outreach strategies for the Department of Student Involvement. The coordinator is responsible for marketing, social media, and communications for the department. The role also manages engagement in outdoor spaces by the university community and external partners and develops events and programs supporting the department's outreach efforts. The coordinator supervises the Student Involvement Associate Assistant Manager responsible for supporting social media engagement for the department.
Job Duties: Communication & Outreach Strategies
Develop and implement social media engagement strategies for the department
Develop marketing material, flyers, and social media graphics for the department in coordination with the university’s branding guidelines
Manage department website and social media platforms
Supervise and develop Student Involvement Associate assistant manager (student employee)
Campus Access Oversight
Oversee policies and procedures related to campus access (solicitation, information, special events, expressive activities)
Approve campus access requests
Conduct daily outreach efforts and engage with internal and external participants; and address compliance, as needed
Coordinate Events and Programs
Coordinate Market Days, on-campus vendor fair
Market and promote outreach to external vendors
Market and promote events to campus community
Serve as liaison with University Advancement regarding fundraising efforts
Responsible for expressive activity and demonstrations support
Support, respond, and enforce free speech, expressive activity, and assembly related to Texas Senate Bill 18 and federal law.
Serve as a primary responder to small-scale/low-level campus expressive activity.
Serve as a member of the expressive activity team addressing elevated expressive activity on campus.
Support Diversity and Inclusion Efforts
Model a strong understanding of and appreciation for the University’s, Division’s, and Department’s priorities related to creating inclusive and equitable environments, policies, services, and programming.
Support all departmental responsibilities
Actively participate in departmental programs and projects designed to support the mission and goals of the university, division, and department.
Actively participate as a member of the Division of Student Affairs.
Serve on committees and task forces, as assigned.
