We're looking for a Marketing Manager to join our Communications and Marketing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the marketing, communications and branding of the GSB's new visionary accelerator centered around identifying solutions for complex issues at the intersection of business, government and society. These issues include climate change, rapidly advancing technology, future of markets and more.
During 2022 and 2023, you will be responsible for leading communications activities for the official launch of the new accelerator as well as helping to create a signature conference that positions the GSB as a vital contributor and leader in addressing these complex challenges. In this role, you develop and execute a plan that communicates the new accelerator to a variety of both external and internal audiences. You will also be a member a cross-functional team that will design the event (including faculty, staff, and alumni) and your primary responsibilities will be to lead all aspects of communications and marketing, leverage members of the communications team to develop a disintegrated suite of activities, and identify and partner with agencies and vendors needed to ensure a successful event in the fall of 2023. Following the event, you will use the information, in partnership with members of the Communications team to to create and disseminate new content using various media (potentially including blog posts, longer-form articles, and podcasts, among others). The role reports directly to the Chief Communications and Marketing Officer.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience in all aspects of marketing and communications. You must be an experienced communicator who has an understanding of the societal issues of our time and how they intersect with management, research and policy. Experience with policy analysis and/or campaign management is a plus. You must have strong communication and organization skills, and be able to collaborate effectively across all levels of the school. Creativity and the ability to think beyond the project at hand is desired.
Your primary responsibilities include:
Envision and execute strategic marketing and communication plans that support the GSB new visionary accelerator centered on the intersection of business, government and society that establishes the GSB's leadership reputation and compels audiences to get involved.
Create and manage an integrated communication strategy which leverages the brand strategy, incorporating appropriate channels (i.e., web, print, email, online) and leverages existing resources to launch the accelerator.
Communicate plans across the organization and/or university to educate and influence stakeholders.
Act as a core team member to launch a signature event that will position the GSB as a leader and contributor on important societal issues.
Create the marketing program including overall branding, digital assets, online marketing, social media and email to attract participants. Collaborate with our media team to maximize its media appeal and amplify the impact of the event series.
Assemble and lead a team including agency and/or other vendors, to deliver the event. Manage timelines, meetings and budgets to successfully launch the first event.
Manage budgets, vendors and potentially staff.
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
Bachelor's degree and eight years of relevant experience; or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience in marketing, communications and event management. Ability to lead integrated campaigns and cross-functional teams.
Experience with project management and the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
Strong management skills including the ability to work with senior leadership, lead with influence and project manage a team of staff and external agencies.
Understanding of how to implement integrated marketing programs across channels including digital and print.
Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex environment.
