SEMA is searching for a seasoned and self-driven Digital Marketing Director. The ideal candidate will be an innovative digital leader for SEMA, its members, and the aftermarket industry. This marketing position requires a digitally and MarTech savvy marketing leader with an entrepreneurial and agile mindset.
The Digital Marketing Director will be responsible in driving all aspects of digital marketing including Paid Digital Advertising, social media, Websites, e-mail Marketing, Content Marketing, Influencer Marketing, and Marketing Technologies. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing and closely working cross functionally with other members of the marketing team, and interacting with numerous stakeholders, outside agencies, and external contractors, the Digital Marketing Director will lead the digital team to strategize, execute, measure, and continuously improve and evolve digital marketing efforts. This individual will work to implement co-created strategies through a variety of owned, sponsored, shared, and paid media. Together with the Vice President of Marketing this role will work to build a world class digital team and collaborate closely with other employees at all levels of the organization.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Help lead the digital transformation for SEMA.
Direct, collaborate, and execute the expansion of digital marketing strategies and capabilities while partnering with department leaders and various stakeholders for development of necessary infrastructure and executional needs.
Manage design, delivery, and execution of strategies co-created with VP of Marketing to improve how SEMA digitally connects with its members while tracking and analyzing data to increase engagement and relevance.
Identify and implement strategies for increasing awareness and engagement through organic search optimization and search ingenuity for market advantage, including SEO and SEM. Continually monitor and proactively manage search performance rankings.
Develop and manage social marketing programs ensuring appropriate strategies, programs, tactics and metrics are in place to progress SEMA’s efforts to build world class and industry leading social marketing programs.
Manage and lead team to develop SEMA’s digital/web properties and content marketing activities to amplify the value narrative aligning efforts with strategic priorities and objectives.
Direct SEMA website team to meet annual and long-term strategic & business goals.
Direct SEMA e-mail team to meet annual and long-term strategic & business goals.
Direct SEMA social team to meet annual and long-term strategic & business goals.
Work with SEMA News Publisher and PAPI team to enhance SEMA digital publications.
Engage and manage effective use of outside agencies and contractors (e.g., creative, paid digital, social media, website, SEO, SEM, content creators, and influencers).
Manage strategy and execution of influencer marketing program.
Manage the development and fostering of influencer and social media relationships.
Partner with department leaders in Events, Sales, Membership, Government Affairs and SEMA’s various business units to implement digital strategies to achieve SEMA’s priority strategic objectives.
Develop and execute digital engagement strategies to support SEMA’s public communications, education, and fundraising campaigns. Examples: government affairs and public policy advocacy, Political Action Committee (PAC) and charitable fundraising.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree or higher. MBA a plus.
10+ years job experience related to digital marketing, e-mail marketing, content marketing, social media, content creation, community management, customer journey mapping, customer engagement, influencer marketing, and online strategy.
5+ years managerial experience
Expertise in building, maintaining, and growing social communities and experience managing crisis social communications.
Expertise in building, maintaining and growing CRM program.
Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills.
Proven working experience in automotive aftermarket industry or nonprofit industry is a plus.
In depth knowledge of different digital marketing channels
Knowledge and experience with online marketing tools and best practices
Experience with SEO, Google Analytics and CRM software
Basic knowledge of web design procedures
Familiarity with design programs such as Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
Familiarity with various coding languages is a plus.
High level of organization with the ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
