Position Overview
As a member of the University Communications division the Associate Director supports the goal to build lifelong relationships that engage the time, loyalty, and intellectual and financial resources of individuals in support of the University’s aspirations, goals, and mission.
The role is responsible for efficiently managing deadline-driven strategies in support of a comprehensive philanthropy program preparing for its next campaign. A key collaborator with multiple departments across campus, they will nurture a culture of active engagement among alumni, parents, and friends while helping to advance the University’s reputation in the marketplace. Highly skilled as a storyteller with a passion for creating inspiring content, this person will shine a light on transformational research, experiential learning, collaborations between faculty and students, and the philanthropic gifts that empower their work. The incumbent will be a creative and strategic thinker who can amplify the impact of the content they are developing by finding new, strategic ways to maximize the use of what they create.
As a member of the University Communications team, the associate director will support communications for the President and the Vice President of University Advancement among other stakeholders and be adept at both internal and external marketing and communications strategies. They will centralize and harmonize the Advancement marketing and communications approach and seek to create a cohesive strategy in the context of launching the next campaign, leading a synchronized effort to reinforce and market the benefits of belonging to the Laurentian community. The Associate Director reports to the Director of Strategic Communications and Marketing and will work in close collaboration and with accountability to University Advancement colleagues.
Remote Work Statement: This position is eligible to be classified as a remote position with most of the work to be completed off-site and the expectation to be on campus several times per year.
