Summary of Position: | This position provides marketing communication services to execute recruitment and enrollment strategies for Statewide and Online programs, the Office of Graduate Studies, and Dual Enrollment. The person assists in the creative process for recruitment and advertising campaigns, which includes content development and publishing via web, email, social media, print, face-to-face, phone, and other mediums. This person will attend recruitment events, communicate with prospective students, coordinate the distribution of branded literature and promotional items, and be expected to provide excellent student service. The anticipated start date for this position is September 2023. However, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed. | |

Required Work Experience: | Professional experience in communications, marketing, public relations, recruitment or related field that included contact with the public and professional audiences. Professional social media and digital marketing experience. Demonstrated writing and presentation skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and web applications. | |
Required Licenses and Certifications: | Valid driver’s license required.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: | Professional experience in higher education. Experience with student recruitment. Previous Banner, Salesforce or Marketing Cloud experience. Experience in content management systems including WordPress, Omni or related platforms. Proficient in the Spanish language. Experience with marketing on TikTok, LinkedIn and other social platforms. Experience with Google Ads. | |
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: | 1. Work with the marketing team to represent the University and academic programs through print and digital media, by developing content and implementing communications strategies. 2. Research, write copy, and publish content for social media, web pages, advertising, brochures, flyers, event materials, and more. 3. Provide information on educational and career programs to prospective students; interpret University policies, procedures, and admissions requirements to various constituents. 4. Acquire, and maintain, an in-depth knowledge of the University and program offerings in order to provide explanation and interpretation of eligibility requirements, practices and procedures, and career opportunities in academic programs. 5. Maintain databases, tracking prospects, admits and students. Use this customer retention tool to build relationships and communicate digitally, via phone, and face-to-face with each audience. 6. Represent Ferris and the academic programs at events, including making group and one-to-one presentations. 7. Assist with planning and hosting recruitment events - both virtual and in-person. 8. Responsibly handle matters of a sensitive and confidential nature. 9. Utilize various software and online applications, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, Salesforce, Concur, Omni, social media, and Google. 10. Statewide travel and occasional evenings and weekends are required. 11. Any other duties assigned within the position classification area. 12. Demonstrates understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members. | |

Skills and Abilities: | 1. Possess strong oral and written communication skills and easily relate to others to build trust and relationships. 2. Possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy. 3. Successfully interact with a variety of staff, students and visitors in a variety of situations. 4. Excellent working knowledge of computer databases, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, and applications for management of student recruitment. 5. Operate office machines and specialized equipment such as copier, printer, and computers. 6. Utilize the rules of proper grammar, correct spelling and punctuation, and proper arrangement of information when preparing correspondence and documents. 7. Plan, organize and make sound judgments and decisions while paying attention to assuring that all details are handled efficiently and effectively. 8. Develop a solid understanding of Ferris programs and related industry terminology. 9. Project a positive image and establish good rapport with the public. 10. Possess a sense of humor, high level of energy and enthusiasm, and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and communicate with a wide variety of individuals both on and off-campus. 11. Works independently as well as part of a creative team. 12. Demonstrated commitment, experience and understanding for diversity, equity, and inclusion. | |
