Job Description The Assistant Program & Marketing Specialist will be an integral part of the Innovate@BU Team to help develop and implement programming, take on different projects to help build relationships for increasing student awareness and engagement with Innovate@BU, to improve student experiences, systems, and processes, and support marketing efforts. This individual will also model the team's values. This position will report to Innovate@BU Program Director.
Programmatic (40%)
Project manage the organization of high-impact programs, including at least one major large-scale event annually, to inspire innovation, help students develop innovation and entrepreneurship skills, and foster a vibrant innovation community at the university
Help develop or deliver programming as appropriate
Help develop and manage relationships with students and other stakeholder groups on campus as appropriate; lead projects to improve student experiences, learning, and program operations
Marketing Support (20%)
Create print and digital marketing materials
Draft marketing materials such as student venture case studies, Innovate@BU offerings, etc.
Create and manage EventBrite postings
Attend University tabling events to represent Innovate@BU, hand out brochures, explain offerings, etc.
Administrative (20%)
Develop and improve program processes and systems
Gather and analyze data to inform decision-making
Communications (20%)
Manage program-related communication with student participants and with program and operations staff
Communicate and coordinate with student groups and stakeholders at the university, alumni, and external experts to further Innovate@BU's mission
Required Skills A cover letter is required for consideration.
Bachelor's Degree
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experiences, such as program or project management, entrepreneurial/startup experiences, strategy and operations, working with college students,
Strong skills in writing, project management, and communication
Ability to learn new systems quickly; experience in improving systems and processes
Ability to work well and build relationships with students, colleagues, and stakeholders
A self-starter who is driven, collaborative, and comfortable with change, fast-paced work, ambiguity, and experimentation.
