Under the direction of the Associate Dean for Administration and Finance, and Chief of Staff, the Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of the UCSF School of Dentistry and UCSF Dental Center marketing and communication strategies. The director will develop and implement creative and measurable communications and marketing plans that encompass advertising, public relations, market research, publications, digital marketing, social media, events, media relations and other aspects of strategic marketing; and will ensure that the brand identity, messaging and communications strategy are infused in all organizational efforts, both internally and externally.
As a member of the UCSF School of Dentistry Executive team, the Director of Marketing and Communications is involved in organization-wide strategic and business planning and evaluation; and will help leaders identify communication needs and resources. Additionally, the incumbent will build a culture of collaboration with internal partners, donors, alumni, and external stakeholders to achieve key institutional goals.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
