The role of this position is to provide leadership to Communications and Marketing teams at the airport and serve as a key member of the Executive The Airport Deputy Chief.- Communications & Marketing is responsible for leading internal, external and crisis communications, promoting AUS brand, overseeing public relations activities, supporting long and short-range planning of airport infrastructure, and maintaining effective working relationships with tenants, other City departments, the public, contractors and regulatory agencies.
The ideal candidate has proven experience leading diverse teams and a demonstrated commitment to cultivating a positive, collaborative and highly productive work The nature of this position requires the individual to be a dynamic and flexible leader with strong skills in people leadership, high-level strategic thinking, instrumental in providing solutions to problems and challenges and effective execution of plans and projects. The ideal candidate must be an active listener, collaborator, and excellent problem solver with powerful communication skills.

Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Business, Public Administration, Business or Aviation Management, Accounting/Finance, Engineering, or a related field, plus six (6) years of related experience, including two (2) years of which were in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Graduation with a Master's degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for up to two (2) years of the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Extensive experience managing diverse groups of staff, creating vision, setting direction, and interacting with Airport stakeholders, executive level leadership, and/or elected
Experience with relationship building, having well- developed conflict resolution and facilitation skills, including working effectively with people at all levels of the organization and elected
Experience with effective communication and interpersonal skills, including persuasion and negotiation skills, team building, and consensus
