The Executive Director of University Marketing will devise and manage a comprehensive strategy to tell Lipscomb University's story and advance its reputation. Serving as a thought partner and counselor to university leaders, the executive director will lead brand development and implement marketing plans to support reputational, enrollment, and advancement goals, as well as key leadership and administrative initiatives.
The executive director will be an experienced marketing strategist and will possess exceptional diplomacy, judgment, and integrity; a full understanding of the marketing and branding process from creative conceptualization to implementation; expert knowledge of traditional, digital, and emerging media; and demonstrated success in leading large and cross-functional teams. The executive director will envision and manage a sophisticated content operation accountable to strong performance measurement and metrics.
Essential Functions:
- Lead, inspire and manage a team responsible for strategic services across the university, including creative design, marketing services, digital and traditional advertising strategy and placement, web and mobile design, and user experience; responsible for envisioning and driving integrated strategic brand and marketing, campaigns, programs, and activities that align with the strategic priorities of the university.
- Oversee university-wide integrated marketing requirements for all key stakeholders to successfully drive the development of strategic marketing strategy and plan that enhances Lipscomb's brand and achieve both long-and short-term school and unit objectives.
- Serve as a strategic counselor to the university's college, school and unit leaders, working with Enrollment Management leaders to drive campaigns and partnerships across the university to support undergraduate and graduate enrollment.
- Partner with and advise the Office of Advancement to develop and execute integrated marketing strategies to strengthen donor and alumni support and engagement.
- Leverage and interpret research, market analysis, and external market insights to uncover Lipscomb's market opportunities and influences on the university's brand. Ultimately, steward the brand to a place of clarity and prominence by utilizing data to inform the development of strategic, integrated communications and marketing plans that achieve awareness, attribution, engagement, preference, and conversion.
- Oversee the development of a comprehensive assessment of the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and campaigns using key performance indicators and metrics, regularly report to key stakeholders, and make data-informed recommendations and decisions to adjust marketing strategies and tactics as needed.

- Outstanding strategic and creative planner, exceptional collaborator, adept at inspiring and leading teams with varied backgrounds and skills; proven ability to initiate, lead, and facilitate change, successfully engaging with others to achieve results.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to engage with, and articulate matters of complexity and nuance to a full array of university community members, including executive and senior administrative leaders, faculty, staff, students, and alumni.
- Advanced proficiency in utilizing cutting-edge digital marketing and brand tools, showcasing leadership capabilities in the realms of digital, social, and mobile media.
- Proven record of success in fiscal planning and management; supervising, motivating, and developing employees.
- Proficiency in CRM systems, data visualization tools, and statistical analysis software.
