The International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) is the premier international membership association for physicians, researchers, and medical professionals, who are dedicated to conquering lung and thoracic cancers worldwide. The Marketing & Communications Manager is a high-volume, high-impact role responsible for executing dynamic marketing and communication strategies that elevates the IASLC’s global presence.
Day to day, the Marketing & Communications Manager drives content creation, campaign execution, and digital engagement across multiple platforms and departments. The ideal candidate is a modern marketer with a strong mix of strategic thinking, technical expertise, and creative storytelling.
This is a full-time, nonsupervisory exempt position. This position reports to the Associate Director, Marketing & Communications. Employees work onsite in our downtown Denver, CO office on a hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will:
• Develop, execute, and track multi-channel marketing campaigns across email, digital, social media, and content marketing, leveraging market insights and trends. • Create compelling, original content for various social media platforms. • Write, proofread, and edit marketing and technical content to ensure clarity, accuracy, AP Style adherence, and consistent IASLC branding and voice. • Support internal teams by providing timely, high-quality marketing materials and content. • Assist Associate Director in managing and monitoring external agencies and vendors to execute marketing programs, while ensuring high quality service. • Manage and maintain marketing project timelines using project management software and oversee the editorial/content calendar. • Create comprehensive social media toolkits to support IASLC’s global meetings, volunteers, and events. • Monitor and report on digital campaign performance, optimizing strategies based on key performance metrics. • Deliver timely, responsive, positive customer service to internal and external partners. • Collaborate effectively as a part of a team and maintain positive interpersonal relationships in a team-oriented working environment. • Work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced atmosphere.
A successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field. • At least 3 years of experience in marketing, communications, social media, or digital media, with a proven track record in: o Managing multi-channel marketing campaigns (email, social, web, and paid media). o Writing, proofreading, and editing marketing materials, press releases, and web content. o Executing paid digital and social media advertising campaigns. o Using marketing analytics to track performance and optimize campaigns. • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting needs. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) preferred. • Technical proficiency with marketing and digital tools, including: Email marketing platforms content management systems (CMS), CRM software, social media tools, digital marketing tools and analytics. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy. • Experience working with vendors, agencies, or managing marketing budgets is a plus. • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines without compromising quality. • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed (5-10%). • Multilingual fluency/literacy would be a plus.
