Position Overview: The Marketing & Communications Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring clear, consistent, and engaging communication across the school’s digital platforms. This position supports website updates, email marketing, constituent data management, and various content initiatives that enhance the school’s brand and outreach efforts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technologically savvy, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, collaborative team while gaining valuable experience in marketing and communications. This position reports to the Director of Marketing & Communications.
Essential Job Functions:
Assist with ad hoc website updates as needed
Ensure accurate and consistent website content across all communication channels
Maintain updates to constituent data, including the faculty/staff directory
Assist with scheduling video and photography shoots
Create and manage email lists for all audiences
Maintain a library of email templates and ensure brand integrity
Build and send emails, including newsletters, event invitations, announcements, and other messages
Provide administrative support to the Marketing & Communications team through file organization and updates
Collaborate with team members on various marketing and communications projects as needed
Create forms, including event registration and question submission
Publish webpages, including landing pages for forms, videos, and other content
Update the online Parent Portal with relevant resources throughout the year
Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, English, business, journalism, or a related field
Knowledge of the independent school environment is a plus
Experience in Canva, Finalsite, MailChimp, and/or Microsoft Office a plus
Comfort with various technology platforms
Strong attention to detail and ability to execute precise work efficiently
Willingness to work as a team player and individual contributor
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong proofreading skills
Excellent organizational and operational skills
Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving needs

Requirements:
This job requires one to lift, carry, push, and/or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 20-pounds as well as the ability to stand, sit, walk, and effective use extremities to reach, hold, touch, push, pull, lift, and carry. Incumbents must also effectively communicate (oral, written, non-verbal) with others. This job typically requires 50% sitting, 20% walking, and 30% standing and is performed under minimal temperature variations in a generally hazard-free environment. Depending on classroom assignment, this role may require one to relocate classrooms throughout the day and require ascending and descending stairs. Incumbents will occasionally be required to work extended hours, including after school, during evenings, and on weekends.
Dexter Southfield’s 36-acre campus is composed of several buildings, playing fields, and outdoor learning spaces, which are accessible via internal and external walkways, stairs, nature paths, hills, and uneven terrain. This position requires one to transfer between these areas in all weather conditions.
