The Marketing and Communications Manager serves as the leader of the Marketing and Communications team, and will support the leadership team as well as various departments throughout The Covenant School. They will manage all organic communication, effectively informing and promoting the school, its brand, its people, and its mission. The Marketing and Communications Manager must be a demonstrated leader who is creative, well-versed in photo and video production, digitally savvy, organized, an excellent writer and editor, and willing to learn. This full-time position reports directly to the CFO/COO of the Covenant School.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities of the Marketing and Communications Manager and their team include, but are not limited to:
Communications: Draft and disseminate emails and weekly newsletter (Eagle Watch) from The Covenant School to multiple constituencies, including current families, prospective families, alumni, donors and employees.
Website Management: Maintain the website to effectively tell the Covenant School story for prospective families; basic understanding of front-end website development is a plus
Writing and Editing: Identify and develop stories to be highlighted on the website and via other media, and work with internal customers to develop compelling content
Photography: Photograph classroom activities and lectures, student life, athletics, and special events (Auction Gala, Arts Concerts, Graduation, etc.) as necessary. Edit pictures to match the established aesthetic in a timely manner
Videography: Ability to plan, shoot, and edit compelling videos for social media and special projects. Research and manage production equipment, including lights, microphones, cameras, and camera accessories
Social Media Management: Use Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc. to post compelling and consistent content that fits into the larger marketing strategy, and analyze social media to improve effectiveness and reach
Graphic Design: Implement basic principles of graphic design to create marketing-related materials for internal clients and prospective families
Oversee the school store (The Perch) and work with the operations team and other departments to maintain and streamline Brand Guidelines for store merchandise

Written and verbal communication skills; ability to edit for grammar and syntax
Exceptional photo and video skills with a strong grasp of visual storytelling, editing tools, and techniques
Experience in the use of social media and strategic management of various mediums
Willingness and ability to learn new programs and processes
